It's not too late to register for the upcoming Virtual Summit hosted by the United States Breastfeeding Committee in collaboration with Reaching our Sisters Everywhere and the APHA Breastfeeding Forum!
The Virtual Summit, Forward Together: Meeting the Moment, will take place on Thursday, July 31, from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. EDT. This day-long Summit was conceived following the cancellation of the annual U.S. Breastfeeding Committee National Breastfeeding Conference & Convening. The Summit will offer the First Food field a space to acknowledge and address today’s specific challenges, along with learning opportunities and time for connection – all within an accessible virtual format hosted on the eve of National Breastfeeding Month.
We're thrilled to announce that Dr. Camara Phyllis Jones will present the opening keynote address for the Virtual Summit! Dr. Jones is a family physician, epidemiologist, and Past President of the American Public Health Association whose work focuses on naming, measuring, and addressing the impacts of racism on the health and well-being of our nations and the world. Her talk, titled "Nourishing Each Other in These Times: Lessons from First Foods, First Nations, and Paulo Freire" will kick off the Summit, and we hope to see you there! Explore the agenda.
