As part of the New Mexico Improving Perinatal Health ECHO Program Grand Rounds on August 31, 2026, from 12:00–1:30 p.m. MT, we’re inviting individuals and families to share their experiences.
Have you or someone you love had to travel long distances for prenatal, labor and delivery, or postpartum care because a hospital or birth center closed in New Mexico?
Behind every closure is a family, a provider, and a community whose life was changed. We want to make sure those experiences are heard.
You can participate in whatever way feels most comfortable:
1) Email us your story, and—with your permission—we can read it anonymously or with your name during the session.
2) Join us live on Zoom through the iECHO platform and share your story in your own words.
Our hope is to elevate the real experiences behind New Mexico’s changing maternity care landscape and foster meaningful conversations about how we can improve access for families across our state. Your story could help shape the future of maternity care in New Mexico.
Submit your stories by email to PerinatalECHO@salud.unm.edu
Please feel free to share this message with anyone whose experience deserves to be heard. Every story has the power to make a difference!
Thank you,
ECHO Institute New Mexico Hub Team
